HI, I’M KALEE —
Entrepreneur, Paris expat, and self-proclaimed expert in sipping spritzes on sidewalk terraces. My relocation to Paris wasn’t exactly planned — I first visited in fall 2022, fell hard for the city’s charm, and decided to spend the summer of 2023 here. After a season of café-hopping, Seine-side picnics, and realizing I wasn’t quite ready to end my love affair with the City of Light, my cat Harlow and I made the move permanent in September 2024. Now, I live here full-time, navigating French bureaucracy, dodging tourist traps, and coming to terms with the fact that Parisian winters are a commitment.
By day, I run a boutique marketing agency — a career that made it relatively easy to secure my Profession Libérale visa and relocate to France. By night (and whenever I can sneak away from my laptop), I’m either exploring Paris’ food scene, testing my very limited French, or attempting to perfect the art of the at-home apéro. I started Paris Past the Postcard to share what I wish I knew before visiting Paris for the first time — lesser-known tips, honest travel advice, and the realities of moving abroad.
Whether you’re planning your dream trip or considering a move to France, welcome! I promise to keep things cheeky, useful, and and with just the right amount of je ne sais quoi.
